Playtest
During the first test, the character creation mechanics were tested out, followed by briefly trying out proper gameplay mechanics. With special thanks to an experienced friend of mine, the document itself was reviewed and minor changes were made throughout the rules document. Further playtesting involved character and scenario creation using the provided detail and skill options. Finally, the beginning of a chosen scenario was played out using the created characters where they ran into a mild inconvenience on their way to a new mission. The given mechanics made the start of a very compelling set of character arcs and an overall adventure.
Changes made during document review:
- In ROLLING, Setback was changed from 3-5 to 3-4 (typo)
- In ROLLING, Disaster outcome was changed from certainly dying when risking death to being left up to the GM even more in the form of choosing between death, severe injury, coma, serious limitation and/or gear loss
- Similarly, Setback outcome was changed from certainly getting maimed when risking death to being left up to the GM even more in the form of choosing between maiming, moderate injury, minor hinderance and/or gear damage
- In the final choice based section on the final page, the choice of how the party feels towards their mission has been changed to applying to each character individually in order to cause realistic tension amongst players for more interesting playthroughs
- The premise written on the top of the last page has been adjusted to be more clear and concise
Changes made after review:
- On the last page, (NPC) was added to both the Closest ally and Prime rival to clarify that these two choices will indeed result in the creation of NPC that impact the main player character(s)
- The credit given at the bottom of the title page has been adjusted
- In ADVANCEMENT, the worth of plant seeds was added for clarification
- In GEAR (TOOLS AND GADGETS), surveillance drone became 'bulky' and therefore worth 2 kwarts (KR)
